Hey everyone,
Just after Square Enix’s DKΣ3713 Private Party, you might remember Famitsu announcing that they’d be featuring a blow out on the event during a mid-August issue of the Japanese gaming magazine. Originally, the magazine was intended to be released on the 19th August; but it would seem that scans of the magazine have already been leaked onto the internet.
The Famitsu scans contain a lot of new information and screenshots on the Fabula Nova Crystallis compilation, on the Final Fantasy XIII front we have several new screenshots of a black soldier holding up Lightning. (Killzone anyone?) Furthermore, Famitsu continued to say that the Final Fantasy XIII demo that is set to be released along side Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children Complete won’t be on the same Blu-Ray disk - meaning that western gamers will get the oppurtunity to play the game in March, if they so wish.
Famitsu have also said that the Final Fantasy XIII demo will be longer than Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children, meaning that we’ll be getting at least 90 minutes worth of Final Fantasy goodness crammed into the demo.
We all knew that Final Fantasy Versus XIII was going to be dark, but we’ve just learned that the people of Final Fantasy Versus XIII’s world will be worshipping a Shinigami that will be designed by veteran character design, Yoshitaka Amano. For those of you who don’t know, a Shinigami is a death god - think Bleach or The World Ends With You.
New Final Fantasy Versus XIII screenshots suggest that characters will change costumes throughout the game, especially during specific cutscenes - though that could be expected. It’s also worth noting that the Prince’s eye colour has been changed from red to blue.
Final Fantasy Agito XIII will be using a similar battle system to that shown in Square Enix’s Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII. Of course, Agito won’t be featuring the dreaded Digital Mind Wave; but the actual game play mechanics will be similar - only of a faster pace.
Agito XIII will be multi-player with character development strongly focusing on the summon system seen in previous Final Fantasy’s such as Final Fantasy XII. It’s not confirmed, but we’re thinking that summons could be specific to specific characters, just like with Final Fantasy XII’s License Board.
