French gaming site, Gamekyo recently updated their website with 50 new screenshots for Square Enix’s upcoming Xbox 360 Action RPG, Infinite Undiscovery. We’ve seen the majority of the screenshots in trailers or magazine scans, however the following screenshots are of much higher quality. Infinite Undiscovery is set for a worldwide release of 2^nd September 2008.

In other news, I’ve uploaded all the reviews for every game section that we cover excluding Dirge of Cerberus ~Final Fantasy VII~ and Final Fantasy VIII. I’ve added some new sections with game previews, such as Final Fantasy Versus XIII, Kingdom Hearts: Birth By Sleep and Kingdom Hearts: 358/2 Days!

Hey everyone,

As you may know, Final Fantasy Rebirth was hacked in the earlier today. Someone had managed to inject our WordPress files with a PHP code that redirected viewers from this website to a supposed, and rather contradictary “anti-virus” website.

After doing a bit of research I found out that our WordPress had been hacked into before I’d updated to WordPress 2.5.1 - and because of this it meant that our WordPress would always be vunerable to injection. Due to this I’ve decided to complete wipe our WordPress, uploading new files and creating a brand new MySQL database. I’ve imported all the old news posts so you won’t really notice much a difference, however there’s one major thing - all news posts that contained image galleries don’t actually contain image galleries anymore, as there was a CHMOD error when I imported the old WordPress’ news posts.

Unfortunately I couldn’t fix this, however it’s nothing to complain about as that news is now old anyway. On a positive note I’ve started to add some Plugins to our WordPress, one of those is the “Enjoyed this article? Share it with others:” that appears at the bottom of every news post. This allows you to add a news update to a social bookmarking website such as Digg or N4G at the click of a button. Bookmarking Final Fantasy Rebirth on sites like Digg and N4G really helps us out, so if you enjoy an article please digg us!

I also thought this would be an ideal opportunity to give you a progress report on how the Final Fantasy Rebirth Version 6 Website Revamp is going. At the moment I’ve wrote 7,000 words worth of Final Fantasy reviews and I’m only half way through the list of games we cover, this means that in the near future I’ll be uploading a hell of a lot of reviews for your viewing pleasure. I am also going to be revamping the following sections of the website, starting with the first.

In addition, all content sections will be recieving a massive multimedia update with a huge range of MP3’s, FMV’s and images with our new image gallery that’s currently in development.

As well as the content revamp, I’m also planning a forum reset. I’d appreciate your opinions on the matter as to whether or not Final Fantasy Rebirth’s forums should be reset, so if you could leave a comment in this post that would be great!

As you may have noticed, Final Fantasy Rebirth has a new layout. I made this layout about nine months ago, and have spent a lot of that time revamping the entire website’s content - however today I realised that revamping the entire website’s content would take a lot longer than I had originally anticipated so instead I’ve decided to upload the new layout now, and update the content later.

Due to this Version 6 is still pretty screwed up, as you may notice the WordPress theme doesn’t look right and there’s a few things I need to iron out regarding content and includes, stuff like that. I’ve also noticed a loading time issue on my PC, with the website taking rather a long time to load with the new layout. If anyone else has this problem, please comment this post saying so, so that I can find a solution to this problem.

Because the layout hasn’t been finalized, I’m still looking for people’s opinions on what can be improved, so if you have any ideas then please comment this posted saying so - and if I think they’re good I’ll make sure to add them/change the layout in the way suggested.

As previously mentioned, with Version 6 of Final Fantasy Rebirth come a lot of new goals. The major one is revamping content and that will be a long and slow process, that you’ll probably never even notice. Another of these is a new WordPress theme, and then final change for now will be the fixing of all the broken links as I’ve changed a few page URL’s. With regard to these changed URL’s, under the Navigation headings ‘Site Related‘ and ‘Multimedia‘, there are no working pages - rest assured this will be fixed in the coming hours, as I’m actually in the process of fixing these pages, amongst other things at the moment.

Update: I’ve fixed the ‘Site Related‘ and ‘Multimedia‘ headings, so all the content under those categories should be up and running other than the image gallery. Next up I’m gonna rewrite all the reviews, and previews for the content sections as they’re barely acceptable at the moment. That should take the rest of the week, after that I’ll start working on getting the image gallery intergrated into the website.

First of all I’d like to apologise for not frequently updating the website with the latest Square Enix news, I have a number of reasons for not doing so but the main two are that I’ve just managed to fix WordPress so that I can actually post news again, and also, up until today Square Enix haven’t really released any new news on any of their next generation titles.

However, earlier this morning Square Enix released the first ever Star Ocean 4: The Last Hope trailer.

Update: We previously reported that Star Ocean 4: The Last Hope would be an Xbox 360 and PLAYSTATION 3 title, however Square Enix producer Yoshinori Yamagishi released this statement in a press conference.

We cannot announce anything on that. We can say that it will be released first [on the Xbox 360]. Whether we’ll release it on the PS3 is undecided. We may release it, we may not.

So in other words, just like with The Last Remnant it looks as if Xbox 360 owners will be getting the game before PS3 owners; however that’s not to say PS3 owners won’t be getting the game.

Ubisoft has teamed up with Square Enix to bring Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Ring of Fates to Europe sometime in Q1 2008. A North American release date still hasn’t been announced so no word on that yet.

I’ve made some good progression on the websites new layout, and it’s almost ready for launch. The delay came with me revamping all the sites content (or at least doing a quick revamp). Square Enix haven’t been releasing a lot along the lines of Final Fantasy game information, that’s the reason I haven’t posted an update in quite a while.
