Final Fantasy XII: Revenant Wings / FF12RW

Due to the massive success of Final Fantasy XII in North America and Japan Square Enix decided to announce a sequal. The sequal, Final Fantasy XII: Revenant Wings was surprisingly announced to be a Nintendo DS title.

Nothing about a storyline has been revealed so far, however we do know that it continues straight from Final Fantasy XII, meaning Vaan is still a Sky Pirate with his own Airship. Vaan is now 18 years old and Penelo is 17, so the game is set approximately a year after Final Fantasy XII. Whilst Vaan and Penelo were out treasure hunting they decided to endevour into the ruins below the floating continent, Bluvalma - and with this their adventure begins...

Many old faces will be returning such as Balthier and Fran, but also some new ones too, a new character called Llyud has surfaced. Llyud is a member of a winged race called the Egul's, he has redish brown hair and his wings match in the same colour, however the rest of his race has grey wings - so we could speculate that he is an outcast of some sort.

Final Fantasy XII: Revenant Wings' battle system seems to be something like the Sword of Mana (GameBoy Advance) battle system however that's only from a first glance. Your party can hold up to four members and target lines have been removed from battles. Espers will also be returning in Revenant Wings and Square Enix have said they will play a much bigger part in the game - but even better, there will be more summons in Revenant Wings than in any other Final Fantasy game, ever!
