In Final Fantasy 7 Yuffie Kisaragi is an unlockable character, to unlock Yuffie Kisaragi you must wander inside the forests around Junon or Gongaga, this can be done at any time in the game but as soon as you reach Junon would be the best time to do it.

Wander inside the forests and keep engaging in random battles until eventually a Ninja will appear. Battle Yuffie and defeat her, afterwards a scene will appear and you are able to talk to Yuffie. There is also a Save Mark, do not Save your game or you will have to repeat the entire process!.

When speaking to Yuffie reply to what she says with the following answers:
"Not interested"
"Petrified"
"Wait a second"
"That's right"
"Let's hurry on"

Now you have Yuffie in your party, I recommend you equip all your Materia to your characters because Yuffie will steal it, the best way is to have every hold all your best Materia and use the Exchange commands to switch it between party members.

Note: In the PC Version of Final Fantasy VII some forests cause the game to crash after the battle with Yuffie, if this happens just move onto the next forest on the map.
