At the start of Kingdom Hearts Sora is a carefree 14 year-old boy. One day when his island is attacked by the Heartless Sora is chosen to be the True Keyblade Master and is given the legendary Keyblade, a weapon that once caused chaos and prosperity long ago.During Chain of Memories Namine begins wiping Sora's memories and abilities, Sora soon becomes obsessed with saving Namine from the Organization, however when he realises that Namine had just altered his memories he chooses to get sealed in away and have his original memories restored.
Once he reawakens in Twilight Town after Roxas' story he meets King Mickey, who tells him to take a train to Yen Sid's place. Here he gains some new abilities such as a new outfit and the Drive Guage.
