Cameo Appearances
There are several Cameo Appearances from Final Fantasy characters in Kingdom Hearts, here is a list of all the Final Fantasy characters Sora encounters during his journey:

Squall (Leon)
Role in game: Squall tells you about the Heartless and the Keyblade when you visit Traverse Town. He is also a boss in the Coliseum.
Aerith
Role in game: Aerith tells Donald and Goofy about the Heartless and Keyblade, also gives you a Mega-Potion.
Cloud
Role in game: Cloud is the first boss you fight during the Coliseum, he gives you the ability Sonic Blade.
Yuffie
Role in game: Yuffie is with Squall when you visit Traverse Town, she is also in the Coliseum fight teamed up with Squall.
Tidus
Role in game: You fight Tidus whilst training on Destiny Islands.
Wakka
Role in game: You fight Wakka whilst training on Destiny Islands.
Selphie
Role in game: You fight Selphie whilst training on Destiny Islands.
Sephiroth
Role in game: Sephiroth is the hardest battle in the Coliseum if not the entire game.
