Xaldin
Xaldin
The battle with Xaldin is one of the hardest in the game if you ask me, the best chance to attack him is right at the very start of the battle. So go straight into Master Form and do as much damage as you can at the start because later in the battle he becomes extremely hard to land combos on.
Another good move to use at the start and later in the battle is Donald and Sora's Limit, Comet, once Comet begins just keep attacking with Sora like usual but use the Triangle button to fire using Donald's magic. Having Donald have the Auto Limit ability really does help during this fight as you can press Triangle to execute Comet at any time.
Running away from Xaldin would be a good strategy, except it doesn't work. Your limited to a very small space and Xaldin will Teleport close to you if you get too far away. However in Anti Form you can move much faster, so you can easily dodge any of his attacks by running from left to right then jumping and unleashing a combo with X and Square buttons. But only do this when you see an opening to attack.
You'll notice that every now and again the Learn Reaction Command, as soon as this appears just keep jamming Triangle button, once you've pressed it several times Lock onto Xaldin and the Reaction Command Jump will appear, using this will do a great amount of damage to Xaldin.
Xaldin floats in the air a lot, especially when he's attacking. The best thing to do is have Air Combo Plus, Air Combo Up and as many combo/air combo power ups as you have equipped to Sora. For one of his attacks he will unleash a whirlwind across the entire bridge, this is extremely hard to dodge so I suggest running to the far corner of the bridge and hoping it doesn't hit you.
Another of Xaldin's more powerful attacks is when he races across the bridge, coming under and over to attack you, a good way to dodge this to keep Locked onto him so you know where he is and run whenever he approaches you.
Magic is also important in this fight, saving all your magic for Cura is a good idea, however it also pays off to use spells like Thundara you can't get past his spears to attack. So I recommend equipping lots of Ethers for this battle.
