Hey everyone,
Today Square Enix has treated us with four new The Last Remnant images, only one image gives away in-game footage, though from that we can pretty much make out how The Last Remnant is going to play! The Last Remnant, currently scheduled for release on Xbox 360 and PS3 will play very similar to the Xbox 360 RPG Ninety-Nine Nights, in other words Dynasty Warriors.
Personally I’m not a fan of this style of gameplay, though we’ll have to wait and see. The Last Remnant puts the two main characters, Rush Sykes and The Conqueror in the middle of a raging struggle for highly sought after magical fragments known as Remnants.

Edit - On a second note, all Final Fantasy Rebirth’s ROMs are back online and can be found on our Final Fantasy ROMs page. So please update your bookmarks and links to point to that page!

Hey everyone,
Don’t you just love it when those really exciting rumours turn out true? Well in this case, Final Fantasy IV has been confirmed to be remade on Nintendo DS with Final Fantasy III style graphics! Not only that but we have screenshots, check them out in the scan below!
Onto the more interesting news, Dissidia: Final Fantasy has been confirmed and screenshots have been released showing Zidane dueling with Kuja from Final Fantasy IX. Though you can expect most popular characters from the Final Fantasy franchise to appear in Dissidia: Final Fantasy - and the graphics look superb for a PSP title, so what can we expect? The screenshots suggest that Dissidia: Final Fantasy is going to play something along the lines of Tekken: Dark Resurrection - that’s right, a fighting game!

Hey everyone,
Square Enix have confirmed the title Dissidia: Final Fantasy as part of the Anniversary series coming out this year on PSP. Currently we don’t know anything more than that character designer is Tetsuya Nomura (most famous for Kingdom Hearts), and that the word Dissidia means ‘To lay in ruin‘.
We don’t even know if Dessidia: Final Fantasy is going to be an RPG, IGN currently have it’s genre down as Dramatic Progressive Action, Square Enix promised that more information will be available at the upcoming Square Enix Party 2007 but until then check out the Dissidia: Final Fantasy official website.
Fearless87 has notified me that the two characters in the logo look strikingly like Princess Sara and Chaos from Final Fantasy I, leading him to believe it’s going to be a direct sequel. More information coming soon!

Hey everyone,
The latest rumour flying around the internet is actually a very interesting one, apparently Final Fantasy IV is going to be remade on Nintendo DS, using the same graphics system as Final Fantasy III DS. Matrix Software, who assisted the Final Fantasy III remake alongside the original Final Fantasy IV cast will be recreating the game, and adding several new chapters to it’s story.
Now this could well be possible, considering earlier this month Square Enix stated that instead of continuing the Final Fantasy series to Final Fantasy XIV they are instead going to focus on expanding previous Final Fantasy universe.
In other news an American gaming magazine, Game Informer has claimed the previous The Last Remnant rumour to be true! Several Final Fantasy fan sites previously speculated that The Last Remnant would be the concluding episode to the Compilation of Final Fantasy VII, however I must say that unfortunately this isn’t true and The Last Remnant is a totally new RPG series!
The game is going to use the Unreal Engine that’s been used to develop Final Fantasy XIII so it’s likely that The Last Remnant will be on either PLAYSTATION 3 or Xbox 360 due to there higher graphical capabilities. The Last Remnant is been directed by Hiroshi Takai, who formerly worked on Final Fantasy VII and Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within and is heading for a 2008 release.
The two main protagonists, Rush Sykes and The Conqueror live in an era of Remnants, which are magical fragments which can take many different forms including vehicles, weapons and even creatures. This may seem very confusing, but I’m sure more will become clear as more information appears, though it seems Square Enix already have the storyline sorted out!
