Today at DKΣ3713 Private Party that Square Enix hosted; Square Enix announced the release date for Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children Complete.

Advent Children Complete; the Blu-Ray re-release of Advent Children will be released on Blu-Ray for a release date of March 2009. Along with this release, a Final Fantasy XIII demo will be packaged along with the Blu-Ray movie. Surely - this gives Sony a boost - making a worthwhile reason to buy a Blu-Ray player - specifically the PS3.

A new commercial for Square Enix’s upcoming Xbox 360 exclusive, Infinite Undiscovery recently aired on televisions across Japan. The commercial doesn’t really reveal anything in the way of new information, though it’s definitely worth watching.

Infinite Undiscovery is set for a 2^nd September release in North America, shortly followed by a European and Australian release on the 5^th September.

Another scan from this week’s Jump Weekly magazine has surfaced on the internet, this time featuring the upcoming PSP title, Dissidia: Final Fantasy. The Jump Weekly scan reveals two new characters from Final Fantasy III, Onion Knight and Cloud of Darkness.

The magazine scan isn’t of the highest quality, though you can make out several screenshots of the new characters as well as two pieces of official artwork. Check it out below!

This weeks edition of the Japanese gaming magazine, Jump Weekly featured a page spread on three of the upcoming games in the Kingdom Hearts compilation. The main focus of the article was on Kingdom Hearts: 358/2 Days, though there was a little on Kingdom Hearts: Birth By Sleep and Coded.

The Jump Weekly scan further confirms a vague release date of 2008 for Kingdom Hearts: 358/2 Days. The screenshots featured in the scan reveal a little new information, we know know that at one point or another you’ll get to visit Beast’s Castle; a world featured in Kingdom Hearts II. The new screenshots also reveal a couple of changes to the games original interface, a new special points system now appears in the left hand corner of the screen; and Roxas’ character icon has changed since the last batch of screenshots.

Interestingly, it seems that there is a map on the bottom screen. This suggests that Kingdom Hearts: 358/2 Days probably won’t intergrate the Nintendo DS’s touch screen in the way that fans had originally hoped. It’s not the end of the world, but it is a shame.

In regard to Birth By Sleep, the release date is still unknown. The same goes for Kingdom Hearts: Coded, the scan also suggests that Kingdom Hearts: Coded will feature a different combo system that will make Sora far more powerful than in previous titles. Though this isn’t confirmed.

Over the past week or so, there has been a lot of controversy over Square Enix’s recent announcement that Final Fantasy XIII would be heading to the Xbox 360 in Europe and North America. A lot of PlayStation 3 owners feel betrayed by Square Enix’s decision to port the title to the Xbox 360, especially because for many people; Final Fantasy XIII was their sole reason for buying a PlayStation 3.

Now you can understand why a lot of PlayStation 3 owners are annoyed, because they could’ve saved themselves a couple of hundred dollars by buying an Xbox 360 rather than a PlayStation 3; of course that’s only if they wanted a console solely for the next generation Final Fantasy title. On the other hand though, there are a lot of reasons why Final Fantasy XIII coming to the Xbox 360 is a good thing; and I’m writing this article to explain a few of those points.

One of the major advantages of Final Fantasy XIII coming to the Xbox 360 is the fact that Final Fantasy XIII’s development process will be sped up. You’re probably wondering “How does that work? Square Enix have already said that they will be finishing the game on PlayStation 3 first then port it to the Xbox 360!” In saying this you’d probably be right, though what you also have to take into consideration is that since announcing Final Fantasy XIII on Xbox 360; Square Enix have moved the development process from the PlayStation 3 console to the PC.
